Matthias Odin thrives on encounters and chance encounters, which give his work a wandering quality and a sense of both chance and chosen construction. The sculptures he creates come to life through his everyday experiences. Discoveries of objects, places or situations through solitary surveys of the city, through friendships and/or collective experiences. Each encounter brings back a material or immaterial memory that feeds into his composite installations, which become witnesses to his great mobility.

Born in Lyon in 1995, Matthias Odin lives and works in Paris. He graduated from the École Nationale des Beaux-arts de Cergy in 2023.
