ExposerPublier / Benoit Brient

Format À deux : ExposerPublier and Marianne Mispelaëre – Double Trouble

Opening on Wednesday 7 February 2018,  from 7pm to 9pm

Every month, the “Window Display” at l’antenne is home to a new art project linked to le plateau’s exhibitions, collection and educational outreach ventures.

For the frac île-de-France window display, ExposerPublier and Marianne Mispelaëre have created an initiative enabling them to establish a dialogue between their respective archives. Exhibition photographs, work documents and residual traces of their past research or that in progress intersect, interchange and alternate, rendering the whole polysemy of the term exchange.

ExposerPublier is a collective comprising two artists/researchers (Léo Coquet and Caroline Sebilleau) and a freelance graphic designer (Benoit Brient). Since 2014 ExposerPublier has designed and implemented, both collaboratively and experimentally, projects involving editorial and curatorial practices in the form of books, exhibitions and workshops in art schools, etc. The notions of collaboration and dialogue, as well as the pooling and sharing of knowledge are at the very core of the collective’s approach.

Marianne Mispelaëre (1988) lives and works in Paris. With drawing as her primary focus, Marianne Mispelaëre observes, producing and reproducing concise, simple and precise gestures inspired by topical and societal phenomena. She manipulates elements such as energy, movement, medium and symbols through drawing ranging from the scale of a sheet of paper to that of a wall space, as well as from video to performance. Marianne Mispelaëre combines her experience as a collective editor at Pétrole Éditions with her personal practice.
