EXPOSURE

Finishing for the L’Irrésolue (The Irresolute) exhibition

23.06, from 8pm

Exhibition curator Anne-Lou Vicente and artist Camille Brée invite sound artists Oï les Ox, Detente and Vina Konda.

After five months on show, L’Irrésolue ends in a blur of strange, familiar sounds inhabited by reminiscences, emotions and other affects linked to both intimate and collective memory. The audience is exposed to a mixture of blistering riffs, striking beats, heady loops and wisps of glowing smoke. A crescendo of revelation under the sign of incandescence, of a latent conflagration.

Oï les Ox

Born in Paris in 1991, Aude Van Wyller is a sound and visual artist and Celtic harpist. She graduated from Villa Arson in 2015 with honours, proposing a sound journey of readings and outdoor broadcasts. She develops a body of work in which text and music are closely linked, questioning the place of enunciation and listening. She arranges her writing in poem-partitions and then in performances in which the spatial setting of the sounds varies according to the venue. She combines these voices with multi-channel installations that mix broadcast and read voices, recordings of improvisations and sound effects. To this end, she produces collective writing and sound recording workshops.

In 2020, under the name Oï les Ox, she published a suite of poems, made up of translations, quotations and songs entitled ‘Crooner qui coule sous les clous’, on the labels The Death Of Rave/Boomkat (UK) and Primordial Void (US). The meaning of his lyrics wanders, exploring unfinished territories, information highways, technology in the past, against a backdrop of club music and new wave rapidly mixed together.

After several residencies at Le Botanique, Les Ateliers Claus and Het bos in 2021, and at La Muse en Circuit (CNCM) in 2023, she played in Austria at the Heart of Noise festival (2021), in France at Sonic Protest (2023), in Belgium at the Schiev festival (2022) in Brussels, in Germany in Freiburg for Ars Acustica on SWR2, and in Berlin at Oxi Club. She has joined the Shape+ roster (Platform for Innovative Music and Audiovisual Art from Europe), a programme supported by the European Union for 2022-2023.

Detente

Based in Paris, Detente explores fragmentary emotions with guitar riffs, waves of echoes and steamy synths. A combination of ambient clarity and dreams of past lives.

He has released an extensive catalogue of music and mixes since 2014, including the album Life Is Life in 2020, and more recently Borne (in collaboration with Aamourocean).

He is also one of the programmers of the “Musics” series of events and concerts in Paris, focusing on the contemporary underground.

Vina Konda

Y is first and foremost the design of headphones connected to the ears of a generation. For Vina Konda, it’s a keyhole through which you can see your Neverland. Her world through the world; a room where memories of the present and moments gone by sit side by side. It’s a true false image that we fantasise about forever, bringing together, as if for poster, the idols of a shared reality that used to be called MTV Pulse.

Vina Konda’s live shows explore the guitar through the prism of computer simulation. A nostalgic product, rendered through a keyhole. That of a door built in the 00s. On the other side, a space inhabited by the spectres of electronic and proto-electronic music, the ghosts of Californian punk rock and nu metal.
